Entrepreneur Journeys Book Review: Do You REALLY Have What It Takes?

Posted on Thursday, Sep 17th 2009

In her post Do You REALLY Have What It Takes To Be A Successful Entrepreneur? Candice Arnold of reviews Sramana Mitra’s latest book:

“In Positioning: How to Test, Validate, and Bring Your Idea to Market, Mitra again interviews over a dozen successful entrepreneurs to learn how they determined the best paths to take with their businesses.

Mitra’s interviews illustrate that successful entrepreneurs didn’t just come up with great ideas. They came up with great ideas that filled needs, and they strategically marketed those ideas to their target audiences. Sometimes there’s no competition, which makes things a little easier, and other times there’s a lot of competition and achieving success means finding a way to stand out by offering something a little different, a little better, or a little more quickly than the competition.

Anyone who wants to forego the usual entry-level job search in favor of entrepreneurship should read Sramana Mitra’s Entrepreneur Journeys series to get a clear picture of what that entails. Passion, dedication and determination are required in large measure for those who wish to be successful.”

And Alan Vit posted a review of Bootstrapping: Weapon of Mass Reconstruction on Alan’s Money blog:

“If you’re starting your own business in the technology industry, Mitra’s book might well give you some perspective on initial funding that you may not have considered. And given what is at stake, it would be advisable to take the time to read this book.”

Also, here is Sramana Mitra’s guest post for Xconomy San Diego, Bootstrapping Our Way Back From The Collapse.

The first three volumes of Sramana Mitra’s Entrepreneur Journeys are now available from Amazon and Smashwords.
