November 4 – Workshop on How to Build Communities of Entrepreneurs EVERYWHERE

When we first announced the 1Mby1M mission of helping a million entrepreneurs reach a million dollars in annual revenue, we received a tremendous amount of interest from Sramana’s global community of readers. That was January 2010. 

We created the 1Mby1M Ambassadors program to understand and support the needs of startup ecosystems around the world.

In November 2010, we launched the 1Mby1M Global Virtual Accelerator program. Some of the ambassadors became members of the 1Mby1M team. But we didn’t build the ambassador program itself further for a while.

This fall, due to the positive response to Sramana’s recent blog series, How to Build and Monetize a Technology Entrepreneurship Blog, we have restored the 1Mby1M Ambassadors program with a structured set of goals and resources. Here they are:

1. We are looking for 1Mby1M Ambassadors who want to teach technology entrepreneurship based on the 1Mby1M methodology and curriculum and build and support startup ecosystems around the world.
2. We are seeing professors express interest in the 1Mby1M Ambassador program. This is a very welcome development. We want educators to have access to our world class case studies and level the playing field with elite institutions of the world. From Patiala in Punjab or from Patagonia in Argentina, you can expose your students to Dharmesh Shah, founder of Hubspot, and many other important entrepreneurs with phenomenal track records. Our entire curriculum and methodology is case study based.
3. We are very interested in collaborating with startup and technology bloggers and journalists around the world who are inspired by our mission.
4. We have released ~30 courses based on the 1Mby1M curriculum on Udemy. These courses are perfect for teaching entrepreneurship fundamentals like Bootstrapping, How Investors Think, Domain- and Geography-Specific Lessons from the Trenches, Ideation Techniques, and more.
5. We have also created the Udemy-1Mby1M Affiliate program for bloggers, journalists, entrepreneurs, startup mentors, and ecosystem builders to collaborate on teaching, training, grooming entrepreneurs, while also monetizing systematically.
6. We’re interested in college and high school students and alumni who want to build startup ecosystems at campuses and institutions around the world.
7. The 1Mby1M Ambassadors Group on LinkedIn is now the home of this concerted effort.

Please note, we’re particularly interested in those community leaders who want to build $1M+ business themselves on top of the Udemy-1Mby1M Affiliate program. A simple, back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests that you would need to support an ecosystem of 20k entrepreneurs learning the 1Mby1M methodology using our Udemy courses to achieve this target.
