Sramana Mitra: Outside of Salesforce, what else is popular in your ecosystem?
David Wenger: We see a lot in the medical device space, durable medical equipment, home health & hospice, and post acute care.
>>>We discuss interoperability within the healthcare IT space.
Sramana Mitra: Let’s start by introducing our audience to yourself as well as to Bridge.
David Wenger: I’m the Founder and CEO of Bridge Connector. We’re the first no-code platform for healthcare-specific integrations. By saying integrations, I mean connecting disparate systems across a variety of healthcare software, whether that’s a cool digital health app, a medical device, an EHR, or even a CRM.
>>>Sramana Mitra: How is your system architected to be able to take unstructured data to structured data? Can you talk a little bit about how you do that from a technical point of view?
John Harrison: We have a platform that handles the exchange of a lot of documents today. We handle well over a billion documents flowing through our platform every year. That’s a core fax infrastructure. In the interpretation of the data, we leveraged a variety of AI technologies to do a few things.
>>>John Harrison: Another application that we’re seeing is more on clinical data analytics. Being able to surface data contained in these repositories of unstructured content is already helping researchers discover new correlations of symptoms and treatments.
We’re working with a physician out of University of Colorado hospital and doing some wonderful work on leukemia. The physician believes that within a patient’s profile or particular results, indicators or lab markers of the success of various treatment protocols can be provided for each patient.
>>>Sramana Mitra: Talk about specific use cases. You can pick whatever illustrates best your value proposition in the healthcare IT workflow.
John Harrison: If you don’t mind, one minor digression before we talk to the use cases themselves. As we look at how these three pillars of focus come together – document-based communication, document handling, and extraction and recognition of contents – the fundamental thing that we’re getting out there is interoperability of data.
>>>The document transfer and management process in the healthcare industry is archaic and full of holes.
John discusses innovation and opportunities.
Sramana Mitra: Let’s start at the beginning and have you introduce yourself as well as Concord.
>>>Sramana Mitra: How much penetration does your class of technologies have in the US healthcare system?
David Shelton: We were originally formed by acquiring two healthcare companies. We have 30 years of healthcare experience. We’re serving over 300 hospitals and healthcare providers around the United States.
>>>Sramana Mitra: Give me an example of a type of patient that you identify. How do you design their payment plan?
David Shelton: We run through a specific algorithm with a scoring process where we’ll anticipate a performance outcome based not only on their FICO score, payment history over the last 90 days, but most importantly their residual income. What kind of money do they have available in their household to be able to meet the hospital obligation?
