BlueSnap, a global provider of Open Commerce technology and services that maximize revenues through recurring payment solutions, today announced the scheduling of two strategy roundtables on June 4 and June 7 for the twenty finalists selected for the Entrepreneur Development Scholarship Program. Co-sponsored by Elance in cooperation with the One Million by One Million Initiative, the program was launched April 20 and the finalists selected were announced on May 22. The One Million by One Million (1M/1M) program is a global initiative with the goal of nurturing one million entrepreneurs to each reach $1 million or more in annual revenue. BlueSnap and Elance will jointly award on June 4 and June 7 twelve digital entrepreneurs scholarships to virtually attend the 1M/1M program for one year.

Last night, at a packed event in London’s TechHub, A&N Media awarded five yearlong 1M/1M scholarships. The judges for the contest were Kevin Beatty, CEO of A&N Media, Dominique Trempont, Board Member of DMGT (parent company of A&N Media), Bill Raduchel, Strategic Advisor to DMGT, Alberto Torres, former EVP and GM of Nokia’s MeeGo division, and me.

goCarShare
Drummond Gilbert, pitched goCarShare to connect drivers with paying passengers who wish to travel the same way, allowing them to share the journey costs. It uses Facebook to connect users with friends of friends and a rating system to help create a trusted community. goCarShare will take a commission of 15 % of the paid transaction between the passenger and driver.

As part of a collaborative effort to help Stimulate Entrepreneurship In Britain, A&N Media and Elance, will be co-hosting with several entrepreneur groups in Britain an ongoing series of online 1M/1M roundtable competitions. During each roundtable, five entrepreneurs will be selected to present their company pitches. Two will be judged the winners and receive yearlong scholarships to the 1M/1M education and incubation program for entrepreneurs, courtesy of A&N Media and Elance.

As part of the BlueSnap – Elance Entrepreneur Development Scholarship Program, the twenty finalists listed below have been selected to present their company pitches during two public online 1M/1M Roundtables for entrepreneurs on June 4 and June 7. Twelve winners will be chosen, six at the end of the session, by BlueSnap CEO Hagai Tal, Elance VP of SMB, Ved Sinha, and Sramana Mitra. Each winner will receive a yearlong scholarship to the 1M/1M education and incubation program for entrepreneurs, access to BlueSnap commerce experts who will help establish the winners’ online presence when ready, and Elance service credits to help them hire and manage online professionals in the cloud.
