Roundtable Recap: January 14 – Interesting Discussions On Travel Related Concepts

During this week’s roundtable, two of the five presenters triggered travel related discussions.

Jurni
First up, Edreece Arghandiwal from California, pitched Jurni, a social media platform for people to video blog about their experiences. My take: only in certain domains are video blogs interesting. Travel is one of them. Trivial experiences do not have universal appeal, but talented curators curating travel experiences can be quite interesting.

Bugyal
Next, Sudhanshu Rathore from Pune, India, pitched Bugyal, a travel planning social media concept where people who have researched a certain destination will share with others their research. My question: how do you get people to share their research? What is the incentive? Once more, publishing a detailed travelogue may be interesting to people, not as much for publishing research. It may, however, serve the same purpose.
