My friend Rajesh Shetty just had me build a Squidoo page. I am curious…do you guys know of Squidoo?

Yes, I do know and had created an account plus a page. However I have not used it much. It does seem interesting and when the page was created, google seemed to pick it up nicely.

I do go there but only because i read Seth Godin. I have not quite been able to full develop the rationale for using the service, for us or our clients. Perhaps it may be because we are based out of India etc…or not fully grasped the concept. I am curious about this service….questions that come to mind include….

If its about expertise……what is better…blog or knol or any other tools..

If its about relevant information or lists….how can it be used for a business etc…

Or maybe i have not understood the concept, in which case please correct me :)

Just discovered it recently too when a buddy built a page - it is a pretty cool idea for collecting & sharing information easily

If Squidoo is the answer, what is the problem?

I am not sure I have the answer to that. You have to ask Seth Godin.

Hi,

Yes, I too created a squidoo page - they call it “lens” - there: http://www.squidoo.com/subliminal-subconscious.

The site is essentially Web 2.0, with its own lexicon and its own community. You post articles, tidbits, in fact, anything from a host of widgets whose list keeps growing, in your “lens”. Just like you would do in your blog.

They have their own revenue model, which rewards active members who can get to earn money every month.

Since the search engines hold Squidoo in high regard, it enjoys some good traffic everyday, which might then get diverted to your own sites…

Sanjay.
