Good Financial Blogs

Wednesday, December 19, 2007 | 6 comments

Here’s a list of good financial blogs. I wish I had time to read all of them, but I don’t. I am still trying to figure out an algorithm of how to stay on top of all this great information!

  • All About Alpha: Christopher Holt’s blog explores the “game changing” effect of hedge funds, ETFs, and derivatives on traditional asset management.
  • Mish’s Global Economic Trend Analysis: Michael Shedlock’s thoughts on the global economy, housing, gold, silver, interest rates, oil, energy, China, commodities, the dollar, Euro, Renminbi, Yen, inflation, deflation, stagflation, precious metals, emerging markets, and policy decisions that affect the global markets.
  • The Fly on the Wall: The Fly on the Wall authors provide concise useful information to mainly money managers, investors and equity professionals.
  • Notable Calls: Every morning before the market opens, an anonymous Wall Street professional collects actionable analyst notes and offers an insightful personal response.
  • Market Blog: Herb Greenberg discusses the latest business news and personal finance information with real-time commentary, and investment tools and data.
  • Information Arbitrage: Roger Ehrenberg’s blog is a good place for Internet entrepreneurs and social media-driven VCs with updates on personal angel investments, which are principally financial technology and digital/social media-focused.
  • Calculated Risk: The blog discusses the current economy with a slant towards housing and finance.
  • NestEggr: NestEggr is a leading financial blogs directory with blogs that offer financial advice and suggestions.
  • Market Movers: Felix Salmon in Market Movers provides reviews of current movements in the financial markets.
  • All Financial Matters: An excellent personal finance blog that talks about all areas of personal finance like budgeting, asset allocation, cash flow, insurance, financial planning, portfolio management etc.
  • Trader Mark: Mark, better known as Trader Mark, in his blog Fund my Mutual Fund, provides stock ideas & trading in mock mutual funds.
  • Gannon on Investing: This value investing blog is based on Benjamin Graham, Joel Greenblatt, and Warren Buffett’s value investing model.

The Fly on the wall blog hasn’t been updated since October – why is it on the list?

Thanks for your mention Sramana. I have the same problem you do – too much information, too many blogs, too few hours. I am working on self cloning but until then let me know when your algorithm is up and running :) Enjoy your blog too. I am blog 1.0, when I read your posts it is more like blog 3.0 :)
