Rendezvous With Sramana Mitra In Mumbai On Saturday, April 16

TiE Mumbai and Indian Angel Network are co-hosting this one day event with Sramana Mitra for entrepreneurs in Mumbai, India, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. IST, on Saturday, April 16, 2011. This event is a part of the 1M/1M initiative, started by Sramana Mitra in 2010 with the goal of helping one million entrepreneurs each reach $1 million in revenue and beyond.

Entrepreneurs are invited to attend Sramana Mitra’s keynote address discussing the 1M/1M Methodology: Bootstrapping, Positioning and Lean Startups, followed by the opportunity to ask questions. Then entrepreneurs can participate in two in-person strategy roundtables to receive some real time coaching and answers to questions about their startup ventures. Persistent Systems and IncuCapital are co-hosting this afternoon event with Sramana Mitra for entrepreneurs in Pune, India, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. IST, on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Roundtable Recap: March 24 – 75th Session Spotlights The Midwest

This week’s One Million by One Million roundtable was our 75^th session, and we worked today with three entrepreneurs from the Midwest region of the United States. Our co-host for the program was TiE Midwest based in Chicago.

First up, Priyanshu Harshavat from Evanston, Illinois, presented Socioclean, a service for cleaning up your reputation on social networks. The company addresses a widely-experienced pain: employers are now using social networks for background check on issues such as comments about prior employers, substance-usage, and general image issues that may come across as red-flags to a prospective employer. Jobseekers, therefore, need help cleaning up their social media profiles so that objectionable material does not find its way to these background check scenarios, disrupting their chances of getting hired.
