We’re in Ubud, a village in Bali, Indonesia, staying in a small boutique hotel amidst rice paddy fields, and surrounded by lotuses, coconut trees, banana trees and beautiful tropical scenery. A great backdrop to access the zone beyond mind that Eckart Tolle talks about.
The famous rice terraces of Ubud are stunning.

We saw a superb Kecak dance drama based on the Ramayana (battle between Bali and Sugriva) on the night of the full moon. It was performed in a temple courtyard, with fire. A torrential tropical rain came down amidst the performance, yet it did not extinguish the flames.

The rain comes often, unexpectedly. The green around is full of lushness, giving a sense of abundance. The people are warm, gentle, welcoming. Religion is woven into the fabric of the place with temples and rituals everywhere, all the time.
A calm sense of “all’s well in the world” prevails.
