SVB stands for Silicon Valley Blogger, who writes The Digerati Life. She has a number of posts on bootstrapping online businesses, but the one that I found really interesting is: Make Money Blogging: Top Bloggers And How Much They Earn .
Apparently, Boing Boing earns over $1 million a year, ShoeMoney earns $12,000 a month, and Michael Arrington earns almost $250k a month. SVB gives you the breakdown of unique visitors and ad rates to give you a flavor of what it takes.
So, in case you are thinking about bootstrapping a blog, by all means, take a look at SVB’s research.
Just one thing … it takes a long time for blogs to generate $$$, so please do not make the mistake of thinking this will be easy. But then, nothing worthwhile is easy!
