As you know, I am very interested in online education. This morning, a news item from Techcrunch caught my eye: a social network for finding tutors.
In parallel, another news item in EETimes also caught my eye: MIT puts all its courses online.
I work with the MIT OCW consortium, and have had a number of discussions about their plans on building a knowledgebase along the same lines for K-12 Math and Science tutoring. In my recent interview with Raj Reddy, we have discussed the strategies and barriers for developing such a knowledgebase in detail, as well as the methodologies of teaching. I strongly recommend you read this interview if you have any interest in the online teaching / tutoring areas.
